What to Pitch We encourage all alumni to share story ideas. We occasionally accept first-person essays or memoirs written by persons within the Purdue community-alumni, students, or faculty. Query us with stories, not topics-ones that have a strong Purdue connection but that would interest readers no matter where they went to school. We welcome story pitches from professional writers, and we especially love working with writers who are alumni of the University. The Purdue Alumnus has a long tradition of publishing award-winning, independent magazine journalism. We do, however, openly advocate for higher education and report on topics that relate to the University or higher education in general from the point of view of informed supporters. The magazine aims to keep Purdue alumni connected to one another and to the University by providing accurate, useful, and interesting information. It is an editorially independent general-interest magazine published by the Purdue for Life Foundation. Purdue Alumnus magazine was founded as the Purdue Bulletin in 1912. Pitch Purdue news and feature stories where alumni, faculty, or students play a key role.
